Celtic travel to Dens Park on Sunday afternoon looking to do what theRangers failed to do last midweek, pick up the three points against Dundee.

The hosts will be boosted by that fine performance against the latest Ibrox club and will be looking to build on that by taking something from Celtic as they eye a European place for next season.

And Celtic will have some familiar faces handling the match of behalf of the Scottish FA. John Beaton is back in charge of one of our games and will have the whistle on Sunday in the 3pm kick-off.

Beaton will be assisted by David Roome and Dougie Potter with Peter Stuart on Fourth official duties at Dens Park.

Meanwhile on VAR we will be on a wing and a prayer in the hands of Andrew Dallas and his assistant Graeme Leslie.

What could possibly go wrong? After theRangers lost to Motherwell at Ibrox early last month, it seemed that there was no way that Celtic were going to be allowed to win at Tynecastle the next day. John Beaton was on VAR and Brendan Rodgers ended up serving a one match touchline ban for calling Beaton incompetent.

Then at Ibrox in the recent Glasgow Derby Beaton had the whistle and it was Nick Walsh on VAR (reversing their Tynecastle roles) and with the help of some highly edited VAR footage managed to concoct a case to award theRangers a penalty and a route back into the game when Fabio Silva failed to stay in his feet.

So it’s John Beaton time at Dens Park and the whistler is sure to get the very warm reception from the travelling Celtic support.

Incidentally has Willie Collum been given a game involving theRangers in the Scottish Premiership since the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park at the end of December? Nick Walsh has the whistle for their game against St Mirren at Ibrox.

Why does Celtic remain silent on this and what happened to the communication with the SFA after Celtic complained about the VAR footage at the Glasgow derby not showing the contact on the ball by Alistair Johnston? Other clubs seem to get answers, why not Celtic?
