After four years at the Weserstadion, Marvin Ducksch is leaving Werder Bremen.
The Green-Whites confirmed on Thursday that the striker has joined English Championship side Birmingham City on a permanent basis.
“Marvin has played a huge role for us in the last four years, in re-establishing Werder Bremen as a Bundesliga club,” said Werder's head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer.
"Despite this, we knew that we were ready to begin negotiations, providing it suited all parties, which currently it does. We thank Marvin for his contributions over the last few years and wish him the best of luck for his new chapter in England
31-year-old Ducksch, who scored 54 goals and provided 40 assists in 134 games for Werder, commented:
"I look back on four successful years in Bremen in which I was able to experience so many brilliant moments.
“Werder was a special chapter in my career and one that I will always have fond memories of. Now I have chosen to embrace a new challenge, one that I look forward to greatly. I thank my teammates, the people in charge of the club, the fans, and the staff at the club, who have all supported me during my time in Bremen.”
