For a number of years now, trophy success at Liverpool has been linked with one song - and no, we don't mean 'You’ll Never Walk Alone.'

'One Kiss' by Dua Lipa has been adopted as the Reds' unofficial trophy anthem, played after successful cup finals since Liverpool won the Champions League in Madrid in 2019.

Now, it has been announced that Dua Lipa will play a live show at Anfield on 24th June 2025.

Liverpool most recently won the Carabao Cup in February of this year and 'One Kiss' was played after the full-time whistle.

But how did winning silverware become synonymous with the English-Albanian singer's 2018 pop hit?

Liverpool’s first ‘One Kiss’

When Liverpool reached the Champions League final in Kiev in 2018, it was Dua Lipa who opened the show. It was here that she played 'One Kiss', a song which topped the UK charts in that year.

Although the match that night didn’t go the way of Jurgen Klopp's side, the anthem has stuck with the Reds ever since.

It was written in collaboration with Liverpool fan Calvin Harris, who took part in the team's bus parade after winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in 2022.

Dua Lipa at Anfield

In an interview with the official Liverpool website. in 2020, Dua Lipa revealed that she was hoping to make it to Anfield to watch the Reds in action.

"I'll definitely come to a game some time," said the singer. "My dad, who is a big Arsenal fan but has a soft spot for Liverpool, and my manager Ben, who is a big Liverpool fan, are working out when that can be.”

Now we can confirm Dua Lipa is coming to Anfield, but not for a match! She will be at the hallowed home of the Reds next summer to perform a live show, much like Taylor Swift did so successfully in June this year.

Before today's official announcement was made by the club, speculation had grown online that a date was soon to be announced after a billboard was spotted in Liverpool promoting the show.

The club received a healthy sum of money following Taylor Swift's performances at the stadium and will be looking to pocket some more when Dua Lipa performs.

Whilst some Liverpool fans may be excited to see Dua Lipa at their home ground, all of the Anfield faithful will be hoping to hear 'One Kiss' played over the speakers at some point this season as Liverpool lift another trophy.
