Dream Match in your hometown

The FC Bayern Dream Match is celebrating its 13th edition this summer. Under the motto ‘Traumspiel bei Euch dahoam’ (Dream Match in your hometown), all officially registered fan clubs of the German record champions have the opportunity to apply HERE from now until 2 May to play a match against the first team led by captain Manuel Neuer.

Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport: "The Dream Match will be another highlight in our anniversary year celebrating 125 years of FC Bayern: as with our annual fan club Christmas visits, we can get closer to the fans with our players than is usually the case. It was important to us to organise this Dream Match despite our busy summer schedule, including the Club World Cup in the USA. Tradition is a central component of the club's DNA: we want to be accessible, which is why this Dream Match has a special character. The idea is still unique today - and typical of FC Bayern. We' can't wait to see the applications and are looking forward to the match."

The Dream Match was an initiative of honorary president Uli Hoeneß in 2007 and has been held every two years since 2015. It had to be suspended just once, during the Covid 19 pandemic. The new edition in 2023 in Kaltern/South Tyrol at the ‘Weinbeisser Kaltern’ fan club was a complete success. Previously, ‘Die 13 Höslwanger’ in Höslwang hosted the event in 2007, then ‘Nabburg/Oberpfalz’ in Amberg in 2008, ‘De rodn Waginga’ in Waging am See in 2009, the ‘Lohner Bayern Union’ in Nordhorn in 2010, the ‘Red Bulls Taubenbach’ and ‘Mia san Mia Schalding/Passau’ in Passau in 2011, the ‘Bayern-Kings 1987’ in Selters in 2012, ‘Wildenau’ in Weiden in 2013, the ‘Red Baroons Dietmannsried e. V.’ in Memmingen in 2014 the ‘“Red Power” in Deggendorf in 2015, “Red Residenz Coburg 01 e.V.” in Coburg in 2017 and “Vilshofen Rot Weiß” in Vilshofen an der Donau in 2019.

The following criteria must be met for a successful application:

  • Following consultation with FC Bayern, the fan club, as organiser, will take over the complete organisation with sufficient organiser's liability insurance. A comprehensive security concept must be submitted.
  • Said security concept must include the commissioning of a commercial security organisation, in particular to ensure security inside the stadium.
  • It must be ensured that an appropriate infrastructure is available, including extensive transport connections with sufficient parking facilities. In addition, access for the team buses to the dressing room area must be guaranteed (the buses must be able to drive directly to the front of the dressing rooms).
  • It must be possible for at least 5,000 spectators to watch the match on an existing grandstand infrastructure
  • If the venue requires a journey of more than 2.5 hours by coach, an airport must be within 30 minutes of the venue.
  • The fan club team should be made up of current players (registered club players).
  • A certain degree of timing flexibility is required due to the schedule.
  • 50 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to FC Bayern Hilfe e.V.

After the closing date, a jury from FC Bayern will review all applications and select a winner, who will be announced in due course.
