Tommy Doyle has left Manchester City to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been at Molineux on a season-long loan deal but has now concluded a permanent transfer to the Premier League side.

Doyle’s move will come into effect as of 1 July 2024.

Prior to linking up with Gary O’Neil’s squad last summer, he’d spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Sheffield United, helping the Blades to promotion out of the Championship as well as reaching the FA Cup semi-finals.

Before that, the Academy graduate had enjoyed loan spells with both German Bundesliga side SV Hamburg and Cardiff City across the 2021/22 season.

The grandson of City legends Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe, Tommy made his City first team debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Southampton in October, 2019.

All told, he went on to make seven first team appearances across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Tommy also enjoyed huge success during his time progressing through the Club’s Academy ranks, having first joined City as an eight-year-old.

He captained City to the FA Youth Cup in 2020 and was also skipper when our Elite Development Squad side captured the Premier League 2 title for the first time in 2021.

Tommy has also represented England across various age groups and was part of the England Under-21 squad that won the 2023 Under-21s European Championships last summer.
