West Ham United locked horns with Anderlecht at Lotto Park earlier this evening as they looked to earn a good result on the road. The Hammers made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Gianluca Scamacca finally broke the deadlock in the 79th minute with a great finish as David Moyes’ men earned a narrow 1-0 win in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Let’s take a look at how each West Ham United player fared during the contest against Anderlecht.
GK: Alphonse Areola – 7/10
The Hammers’ keeper made a couple of decent saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet on the road.
CB: Ben Johnson – 7/10
He produced a solid display on the defensive end of the pitch and will be quite happy with the shutout.
CB: Craig Dawson – 7/10
Dawson didn’t put a foot wrong when defending inside his half.
CB: Angelo Ogbonna – 6.5/10
Ogbonna produced a commanding display at the back and didn’t hesitate to put his body on the line when needed.

RM: Vladimír Coufal – 6/10
He didn’t do much wrong when defending at the back but lacked quality in the Anderlecht half.
CM: Manuel Lanzini – 6.5/10
Lanzini retained possession well but struggled to trouble the opposition defenders.
CM: Flynn Downes – 8/10
The talented midfield ace produced a matured display at the centre of the park. He was always willing to get on the ball and make things happen in the opponent’s half.
LM: Emerson Palmieri – 6/10
He performed his defensive duties well but offered very little in the final third.
CAM: Said Benrahma – 5/10
Benrahma struggled to influence the game on the attacking end of the field.
ST: Michail Antonio – 6/10
He had some bright moments in the game but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
ST: Jarrod Bowen – 7/10
Bowen caused a lot of problems for the opposition defenders but didn’t manage to find the back of the net.
Substitutes:
CM: Declan Rice – 7/10
The English talent added more energy and control to Moyes’ midfield.
CAM: Lucas Paqueta – 7/10
He had a few bright moments in the game after coming off the bench.
ST: Gianluca Scamacca – 7/10
The Italian forward scored the only goal of the game with a great finish.
