Albian Ajeti has been talking about his improving form after finding the net for Sturm Graz. The striker believes he is getting back his best form as he adjusts to his new club after his recent Celtic exit.

The Swiss international failed to convince Ange Postecoglou that he deserved a spot in the current Celtic squad. Failing to register an appearance for the club after the arrival of Daizen Maeda, the decision was made, and Ajeti headed out on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga to play for Sturm Graz, very much surplus to requirements, despite Celtic having paid West Ham £5m for his signature.

Injuries, a lack of consistency and playing his first season behind closed doors without the backing of the Celtic support were the key factors in Ajeti failing to make the grade at Celtic. Ange Postecoglou at the time of the loan move to Sturm Graz that “Albian is a good player” and he’s now starting to have an impact, and he has scored his first goal for the club in their 3-0 victory over Austria Wien.

However, Ajeti remained calm when speaking to Kleine Zeitung. “It was a great team goal, it played out very nicely. I could have done one or two more things today, but it’s coming slowly.

“My legs are getting fitter. I’m happy that I was able to score the first goal for Sturm. But the three points are much more important.

“Not everything works perfectly yet. We don’t understand each other perfectly yet. We get along really well and we train together every day. I’m just trying to help the team.”
