Aston Villa did their job of securing a lead against Lille in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final round. Now it’s for them to shift their focus to the Premier League as they face mighty Arsenal this weekend in an away fixture.

The Villans are fifth in the points table and have good chances of earning a Champions League spot for next season. However, they must not drop further points to keep the hopes alive. Hence, they will look to put on their everything against the Gunners.

Defence

Emi Martinez dropped a masterclass to earn a win for his side against Lille. No doubt, he will be operating between the sticks once again. Ezri Konsa has shown a good temperament and should continue to be the right full-back for the team.

No change in the centre-back duo of Diego Carlos and Pau Torres. However, both the defenders can do better and should be on their toes to restrict the in-form offensive lineup of Arsenal. Expect no change at the left-back as Lucas Digne retains after an impressive display of football in midweek.

Midfield

Douglas Luiz will not be available for selection as he will serve a two-match ban after picking up his 10th yellow card. 20-year-old Tim Iroegbunam is likely to take his spot and accompany Youri Tielemans in the middle.

Leon Bailey and Morgan Rogers are expected to be deployed on the flanks. Both will be influential in creating goal-scoring chances. John McGinn is another key player, who will play as an attacking midfielder in the lineup.

Attack

Ollie Watkins remains the leader of the offensive pack. He found the back of the net against Lille and will be high in confidence. He should be clinical in front of the goal if the Villans want to win the battle.

Boubacar Kamara (knee) and Jacob Ramsey (foot) are the confirmed absentees.
