NEC Nijmegen have hit a quick one-two, announcing the signing of Argentinian Gonzalo Crettaz mere minutes after Youssef El Kachati.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper Crettaz comes over from Spanish second-tier outfit CD Castellón and is reunited with his former trainer Dick Schreuder.
In 2015, the Buenos Aires-born goalkeeper joined the youth academy of Valencia in Spain. After that, he played for various clubs, before turning out 40 times in the Segunda Division.
The goalkeeper has signed a contract with Nijmegen that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2028.
Director of player affairs Carlos Aalbers happily explained Crettaz’s arrival: “Gonzalo Crettaz is known to the technical staff and fits well in the desired style of play.
“The goalkeeper was interesting for several clubs due to his good performances and transfer-free status, and that is why we had to decide quickly.”
