ลukasz Piszczek believes a lack of concentration cost Borussia Dortmund in their defeat at Union Berlin last time out.

Lucien Favreโ€™s side were beaten 3-1 at the Stadion An der Alten Fรถrsterei before the international break โ€“ a result which means theyโ€™ve already conceded five times in their first three matches.

And Piszczek has explained where it all it went wrong.

โ€œWe knew that Union would give it 100 percent,โ€ the Poland international told the Bundesligaโ€™s official website.

โ€œI think in the second half we were missing some concentration. In the first half we were OK. Yes, we went behind but then got the equaliser fairly soon after that.

โ€œBut then we didnโ€™t take the chances we createdโ€ฆ two-on-two or three-on-two situations which we didnโ€™t finish off.

โ€œIn the second half we conceded a goal from a mistake, which can happen in football, and which happened because we didnโ€™t get back well enough.โ€

Dortmund host a Bayer Leverkusen side who have been tipped to potentially mount a Bundesliga title challenge on Saturday, and Piszczek is expecting another tough test.

โ€œI think since Peter Bosz came in they have done very well,โ€ he said.

โ€œTheyโ€™ve been even more aggressive and more offensive. We know that itโ€™ll be a tough game for us.

โ€œI donโ€™t like talking about other teams and what they want to achieve. We know what we want to achieve and if we want to reach our goals this season, we have to win games like these.

โ€œLast time we didnโ€™t manage that away from home [in the 3-1 loss against Union Berlin].

โ€œThat showed that when you donโ€™t have the right mindset, you wonโ€™t win anything when you perform like that.

โ€œThe first half against Union was OK, but the second wasnโ€™t unfortunately.โ€
