ลukasz Piszczek believes a lack of concentration cost Borussia Dortmund in their defeat at Union Berlin last time out.
Lucien Favreโs side were beaten 3-1 at the Stadion An der Alten Fรถrsterei before the international break โ a result which means theyโve already conceded five times in their first three matches.
And Piszczek has explained where it all it went wrong.
โWe knew that Union would give it 100 percent,โ the Poland international told the Bundesligaโs official website.
โI think in the second half we were missing some concentration. In the first half we were OK. Yes, we went behind but then got the equaliser fairly soon after that.
โBut then we didnโt take the chances we createdโฆ two-on-two or three-on-two situations which we didnโt finish off.
โIn the second half we conceded a goal from a mistake, which can happen in football, and which happened because we didnโt get back well enough.โ
Dortmund host a Bayer Leverkusen side who have been tipped to potentially mount a Bundesliga title challenge on Saturday, and Piszczek is expecting another tough test.
โI think since Peter Bosz came in they have done very well,โ he said.
โTheyโve been even more aggressive and more offensive. We know that itโll be a tough game for us.
โI donโt like talking about other teams and what they want to achieve. We know what we want to achieve and if we want to reach our goals this season, we have to win games like these.
โLast time we didnโt manage that away from home [in the 3-1 loss against Union Berlin].
โThat showed that when you donโt have the right mindset, you wonโt win anything when you perform like that.
โThe first half against Union was OK, but the second wasnโt unfortunately.โ
