Borussia Dortmund have admitted they aren’t ruling out a new deal for Achraf Hakimi to remain at the club.
The Moroccan has been superb during his two-year loan spell from Real Madrid but is set to play his last Dortmund game on Saturday.
However, sporting director Michael Zorc has insisted the wing-back could return to the Westfalenstadion if an agreement can be reached.
“We have an interest in finding a solution with Real Madrid and Achraf,” Zorc told reporters on Thursday.
“Maybe he will play football in Dortmund next season.”
Hakimi has been sensational in 2019/20, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists across 40 Bundesliga and Champions League appearances.
That form has seen him linked with a move to Manchester City, while Madrid may not be able to guarantee him regular first team football.
But maybe it would be in everyone’s interest if he spent one more year on loan at Dortmund after all?
