Signing from French side Valenciennes, Venema returns to the Netherlands and looks to add to a notorious record in the second tier. He scored 73 times in 185 matches for the likes of Jong FC Utrecht, Almere City FC, NAC Breda and VVV-Venlo.
The highlight for Venema was the 2018-19 season, when he scored 16 times for the Utrecht reserves in what was then called the Jupiler League. Only five players scored more that season.
Venema has signed with FC Dordrecht until the summer of 2027. With his return to the Netherlands, Venema’s goal is clear:
“I am happy to be back on the Dutch pitches. After two difficult seasons at Valenciennes, I want to pick up scoring again, as I did before in the Netherlands. I am convinced that I am in the right place for that at Dordrecht. The attacking and attractive game suits me well, and I look forward to making my contribution to the team.”
