Well the answer is fairly obvious. There are a few options for Liverpool but perhaps the one that makes the sense is Rodrygo.
The Real Madrid winger seems open to a move away from the Spanish capital. It doesn't seem like he is in Xabi Alonso's plans, he has been used sparingly in the Club World Cup, so far.
According to Graeme Bailey, Liverpool are interested in the Brazilian and have been keeping informed about his situation as per Rousing the Kop.
Another potential suitor for Rodrygo remains Arsenal. But the doors for Liverpool to pursue a move for him might have swung wide open after the Gunners' latest move.
As per David Ornstein writing in The Athletic, Arsenal have made made contact with Chelsea to sign Madueke and have already agreed personal terms with him.
Madueke is a left-winger and Sky Sports have reported that it is unlikely Arsenal would sign both him and Rodrygo. So, it seems based on the evidence, Arsenal have made the decision to pursue a move for Madueke at this moment in time.
This will be music to Liverpool's ears and they will hope that Arsenal will be able to get that deal over the line for Madueke.
In turn, Liverpool could walk in through the doors left completely ajar by Arsenal and begin their mission of bringing Rodrygo to the club, something Michael Edwards has been working on for a long-time.
It's no secret that Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Rodrygo and even tried to sign him while at Santos.
Obviously, everything hinges on Diaz's departure. Without that, there is no need for Rodrygo in this Liverpool team. However, if Diaz goes, Rodrygo is the perfect replacement.
