There’s few things worse than a former player scoring against his old club – just ask PSV Eindhoven.
Donyell Malen returned to haunt his one-time employers by opening the scoring for Borussia Dortmund in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 tie.
A sublime shot on the turn saw the Netherlands international break the deadlock midway through the first half as his erstwhile stomping ground.
Malen also became the first Dutch player to score against a team from his homeland in Europe’s elite club competition for eight years.
Arjen Robben was the latest to produce that feat, fittingly for Bayern Munich against the current Eredivisie leaders.
