Sheffield Wednesday are interested in a loan move for Burnley defender Luke McNally, according to The Star.
Hull City and Blackpool are providing competition from the higher level for the 23-year-old, as first reported by journalist Alan Nixon.
The latest update regarding McNally’s situation, from Nixon via his Twitter, suggests that the Clarets would prefer to send McNally out on loan in the Championship as opposed to League One.
Sharing his thoughts on whether or not he can see Sheffield Wednesday winning this particular race, Carlton Palmer told Football League World: “I don’t think that deal is dead in the water yet.
“Obviously Burnley would like him to go out to a Championship club and perhaps the player would like to go to a Championship club, you want to play as high as you can.
“But, Sheffield Wednesday are playing well and they’re going for an automatic promotion spot, so I don’t see this one as being dead in the water.

True False
“It depends whether the player fancies coming to Hillsborough and being part of a promotion-pushing team.”
The verdict
It would appear that McNally is one name on a list of targets for Blackpool as they are also considering Charlie Goode, as per a report from Football Insider.
The Owls are also considering a move for Michael Hector as it is unknown at this stage how high up McNally ranks on Sheffield Wednesday’s priority list.
Of course, Burnley will also be wanting to ensure that the defender goes somewhere to get regular minutes and in the Championship, there is less of a guarantee that he will consistently feature.
