Manchester United were given a reality check as QPR rallied to put four past them, handing them their first loss of the season. It was United who started proceedings with Lingard’s goal. Charlie Austin levelled things up soon as both sides headed into half time square.
A six-minute salvo in the second half by Lyndon Dykes and Moses Odubajo quickly put the home side ahead 4-1. Anthony Elanga grabbed a consolation goal but the game was set by then as QPR managed to trouble United well.
Solskjaer was probably expecting a better showing after that new contract. However, United looked thoroughly overwhelmed just as the senior players went off. The youngsters looked hardly settled as QPR launched attack after attack.

While it’s still pre-season, it will worry Solskjaer that not a lot of players are stepping up from the younger bunch. There is still time but this can be termed as a good old fashioned learning experience.
Fans were visibly unhappy as QPR went on to wallop Manchester United by a 4-1 scoreline.
