Paul Scholes expects Manchester United to have it easy against Chelsea

According to BT Sport (h/t The Metro), Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes the club has little to fear of Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

The Red Devils stay 10 points behind league leaders Manchester City following the 3-1 win over Newcastle United. It was our second straight win in all competitions.

United return to Premier League action next weekend against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues too are experiencing a resurgence of sorts under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea are unbeaten under the German and could close the gap on us if they put up a performance next Sunday. However, Scholes is not losing sleep over that prospect and believes the Red Devils have little to worry about.

“I think United don’t have that much to worry about with Chelsea.”

Scholes’ opinion is based not just on United’s away form but also the lack of bite Chelsea have displayed in the attack. The Blues have so far failed to score more than twice in any game under Tuchel.

“I think they’ll be okay there, especially away from home their record is brilliant.”

The United legend went on to admit that apart from the match against City on 7th March, the Red Devils are capable of winning all of their remaining games.

“That will be tricky, but they’re capable of doing it. I look at the other games I think they’re capable of winning all of them.”

With just 13 games to go, we might just have to win all of our remaining games to stand any chance of securing the title. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to throw in the towel and looks set to fight it out to the bitter end. (h/t The Daily Mail)

Chelsea might be lacking in attack but in United, they will come face to face against an unreliable defence. Thankfully, given Scholes’ overconfidence, we can be thankful it is Solskjaer and not the Ginger Prince in charge of the proceedings at United.

Hopefully, his comments will not come back to bite us next week.
