West Ham are shaping up for a busy end to the transfer window following a double signing today.
It has been confirmed now by the club that Mateus Fernandes has completed his £42m move from Southampton and he is available for selection this Sunday against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Soungoutou Magassa is also now a West Ham player, however due to a delay in his medical, which we believe was technical and not an issue, means he will not be available for Graham Potter this weekend.
There is no denying that this is a huge boost for West Ham, with a clear need to improve the midfield, especially following a very poor start to the season.
Fernandes is expected to be thrown straight into the lions den, with West Ham under considerable pressure to get the season up and running with a result at the City Ground this weekend.
There is now expected to be further twists in the window, with a very real possibility that Lucas Paqueta could depart, with Aston Villa very keen. West Ham still hold serious interest in Harvey Elliot, so don’t be surprised if there is a move for him if the club receive a £50m plus offer for Paqueta.
