New reports suggest today that Juventus and OGC Nice have shaken hands on Khephren Thuram for €25m including bonuses, but some of those will be almost impossible to activate.

The midfielder is the son of former Juve defender Lilian and younger brother of Inter striker Marcus.

Sky Sport Italia and others in Italy were confident the deal would be done for €20m including add-ons.

However, Footmercato and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano now suggest it will be for a total package of €25m.

Thuram all set for Juventus

Sportitalia pundit Alfredo Pedullà has a better explanation for the large difference, which is that some of those performance-related bonuses are “practically impossible” to activate.

Thuram is ready to sign a contract until June 2029 after undergoing a medical over the next 48 hours, where he will earn €2.5m per season in wages.

The 23-year-old was born in Parma, just a few weeks before his father Lilian completed the transfer to Juventus, where he would remain for the next five years.
