DONE DEAL: Internacional snap up Barcelona winger Gustavo Maia

Internacional have snapped up Barcelona winger Gustavo Maia.

Maia joins until December 31, 2022, after the 20-year-old winger failed to impress last season with Barcelona B.

The Blaugrana signed Maia back in August 2020 from Sao Paulo on a five-year deal in exchange for 4.5 million euros and they included a 300m euro release clause in his contract.

Barcelona paid the fee in two instalments of one million euros and 3.5m euros, respectively, but were disappointed with the player's progress last season.

Another Brazilian player who signed for Barcelona but also failed to impress was Matheus Fernandes, who joined from Palmeiras for seven million euros plus another three million euros in variables and was then loaned out to Real Valladolid.
