Manchester City entertained Luton Town at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. Man City made a quick start to the game as they scored the opening goal in the second minute thanks to an unfortunate own goal from Daiki Hashioka. Pep Guardiola‘s men dominated the match and went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Mateo Kovacic doubled his team’s lead in the 62nd minute before Erling Haaland put the match to bed when he scored via the penalty spot in the 76th minute. However, Luton got a goal back thanks to Ross Barkley’s finish just five minutes later. Jeremy Doku got his name on the scoresheet in the 87th minute before Josko Gvardiol put the icing on the cake for the Mancunian club when he scored in injury time. The contest finished with Man City securing a dominant 5-1 win in front of their home fans.

LB: Josko Gvardiol – 8/10

He was a positive influence in both halves and has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.

CM: Matheus Nunes – 6/10

Nunes made a poor error at the back but managed to impress at times in the opponent’s half.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 8.5/10

He got stuck in with some solid tackles and was a constant menace in the final third. He scored a great goal in the second half.

RW: Julian Alvarez – 8/10

Alvarez linked up play well with others around him and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

CAM: Kevin De Bruyne – 8/10

The Belgian talent created a lot of good opportunities for his teammates to score.

LW: Jeremy Doku – 9.5/10

Doku caused all sorts of headaches for the Luton defenders and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.

Haaland was a real handful for the opposition defenders and did well to score his penalty in the second half.
