Hellas Verona have reportedly agreed the sale of Josh Doig to Sassuolo rather than Olympique Marseille, and aim to replace him with Hull City left-back Ruben Vinagre.

Doig had been eager to make the move to Marseille, but Verona seemed more inclined to accept the higher offer from Sassuolo over the last few days.

Marseille warned they would pull out if a deal was not done quickly and now multiple sources maintain Verona and Sassuolo have shaken hands on the agreement.

It is believed to be worth €6m plus €1m in add-ons, with Verona also receiving a 10 per cent cut of any future transfer.

Meanwhile, Verona need to replace Doig and Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà suggests the main candidate is Vinagre.

Although still owned by Sporting CP, the Portuguese left-back is currently on loan to Hull City.

The report states that Vinagre has already given the all-clear to join Hellas Verona, who are now working on the details to terminate the loan move early.

Verona are also close to Malmo defender Joseph Ceesay, according to Sky Sport Italia.
