Spurs started with a mix of senior players who weren’t at the World Cup and youngsters but it was the seasoned professionals who did the early damage.

Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring with just three minutes on the clock when he latched onto a loose ball following some good Bryan Gil pressing from the front and finished low into the net.

With Djed Spence looking particularly impressive in a rare opportunity to impress, it was another wing-back who got in on the action next as Matt Doherty made it 2-0 following a good Spurs move.

Gil then made it three before half-time when he tapped home with ease from Kulusevski’s pass.

And they completed the rout after the break when Doherty grabbed his second of the game by heading home a corner from the right to make it four.
