The 17-year-old, who is the younger brother of Borussia Dortmund and England start Jude, is also on the radar of other clubs in the Premier League, whilst there is also Bundesliga interest.

Bellingham has featured 14 times in the Championship this season, with just one of these appearances coming in the form of a start, whilst he has also gained League Cup experience.

Speaking on his YouTube channel recently about Spurs’ interest in the 17-year-old, Alasdair Gold senses a feeling that he could end up wherever Jude ends up.

Three of our writers here at FLW have shared their thoughts on Tottenham’s interest in the exciting Birmingham talent and whether or not a Premier League move would be wise…

A player who has rather consistently been called on from the bench in the Championship this season, the 17-year-old is an exciting prospect who expectedly is on the radar of Premier League clubs.

Of course, it is easy to draw comparisons and make suggestions based on his brother’s rather unique career path thus far but there is of course potential for Jobe to go a different route.

However, the success and the exponential rise his brother has seen could play an impact on where the next destination might be.

The Premier League is a completely different ball game than the Championship, and whilst he certainly has the talent, he would still be a fair bit away from regular Premier League football.

This would be an excellent addition for Spurs to make with the future in mind.

Bellingham is a player who would probably benefit from having a bit more senior experience under his belt before he takes the step up to the Premier League.

When he has played though, he has held his own at a senior level and that can only be a good sign of things to come, though a move to Tottenham Hotspur doesn’t make sense at this point.

You could understand a move to Liverpool because Jurgen Klopp has given the likes of Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho a chance to shine.

But there are young players at Spurs who haven’t been given a great chance, including Jack Clarke who has moved on to Sunderland and Djed Spence who hasn’t enjoyed a good season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Bellingham may need to compete with the likes of Jordan James and George Hall for a starting spot at St Andrew’s in the future – but you feel his future would be best served in the Midlands at this point.

Ned Holmes

Jobe Bellingham is a fantastic prospect in his own right but there’s no doubt that his brother’s success has made him a more appetising target for the clubs interested.

Spurs’ EFL dealings in the past have been hit and miss, to say the least, but there is plenty of reasons to be excited about the 17-year-old.

Depending on the price of a potential deal, Bellingham could represent a brilliant long-term addition but there is obviously no guarantees.

A Premier League move is obviously an exciting prospect but you could understand if the teenager wanted to move elsewhere given how hard it has been for young players to force their way into the team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He’s on the fringes of the first team at Birmingham City so you have to feel it would make sense for him to remain there until at least the summer and then make a decision.
