Chelsea have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, who has joined Strasbourg on a season-long loan.
Having seen his starting spot handed back to Robert Sanchez by new manager Enzo Maresca, Petrovic was pushed further down the pecking order by the arrival of Filip Jorgensen, who is seen as a better fit for the boss' ball-playing system.
Petrovic was made available for loan earlier this summer and was quickly linked with Strasbourg, but reports suggested he was not keen to make the move.
However, an agreement was reached earlier this week and Chelsea have now bid farewell to Petrovic on a one-year loan which does not include the option for a permanent transfer.
Petrovic will now have the chance to develop his ball-playing skills away from Chelsea before returning to Stamford Bridge next summer.
He becomes the third Chelsea player to join Strasbourg on loan, following Andrey Santos and Caleb Wiley in making the switch.
Chelsea attracted controversy earlier this summer when they sold winger Diego Moreira to Strasbourg for a reported £6.8m, just 12 months after signing the Portugal youth international on a free transfer.
The spotlight is once again on the Blues' dealings as L'Equipe report young striker Deivid Washington, who was signed for around £14m last summer, is on the cusp of a £17.7m switch to Strasbourg which would see him become the Ligue 1 side's record signing.
The teenage striker made three cameo appearances for Chelsea last season but spent most of his time in the Under-21 side, scoring six times in 11 outings.
