After weeks of legal battle, Barcelona has finally secured the right to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the season.

The Spanish Sports Council (CSD) issued a precautionary measure allowing the club to register the players, marking a significant victory for the Catalan club after weeks of uncertainty and financial manoeuvring.

This decision came as a relief to the board of directors and especially to President Joan Laporta, who had been visibly under pressure to resolve the situation.

Discontent over Deco & Masip’s untimely vacation

However, despite the momentous victory, there’s dissatisfaction growing within the club’s upper echelons, reports Catalunya Radio (h/t Diario SPORT).

As per the report, there has been considerable discontent regarding the absence of Deco, the sporting director, and Enric Masip, a presidential advisor, during the critical phases of the Olmo and Victor registration saga.

Both were on holiday when the situation was at its peak, which has not sat well with some board members, especially at a time when Ferran Olive and Joan Laporta were actively managing the crisis.

No strain on relationship

Despite the absence causing some internal friction, the relationship between Laporta and Masip does not appear strained.

They were seen celebrating together in the box at the King Abdullah Stadium following Barcelona’s 0-2 victory over Athletic Club.

Yet, the episode has sparked discussions about responsibility and commitment among key club figures during times of crisis.

Laporta, meanwhile, is also reportedly disappointed with the Catalan press for their coverage of the affair. He may address these issues in a press conference scheduled for next Tuesday.
