“Discussions held” about James Tavernier’s Rangers exit

Article image:“Discussions held” about James Tavernier’s Rangers exit

James Tavernier remains on course to leave Rangers after Sunday’s fateful Old Firm loss, and has instructed his agent to find him a club in either Turkey or Qatar, whose windows remain open.

Both of these markets (and quite a few others) will remain open until the 9th and 13th, giving Tavernier a further 3 days in Qatar’s case and 7 in Turkey’s case to leave Ibrox after he was verbally abused outside the stadium following that horrendous result in Glasgow’s East End.

This has made up Tavernier’s mind that enough is enough and he now seeks his move.

It’s been claimed that:

Istanbul Basaksehir are the latest Turkish club to show an interest, whilst Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have also had conversations about a deal.

There is also interest from Qatar and it’s being said that Al-Arabi and Al-Gharafa are both showing an interest.

In short terms, Tavernier wants out, and there have been discussions about an exit.

The question is his finding a new life in a new country at slightly short notice following what happened on Sunday.

We will never condone abuse of any Rangers player, and the fan’s language was industrial at best and downright aggressive at worst, telling Tav to eff off, calling him a loser, you name it.

It didn’t go into 4-letter tirade expletives territory, but clearly it went over the line of being acceptable – it probably went too far for being outside the stadium with the team leaving the ground.

And it’s the final straw for Tavernier it seems.

He is working on a move out, and we’ll find out soon if he secures one.
