Chelsea will welcome Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge this Sunday afternoon as they look to secure a good result in front of their home fans. The Blues suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United recently, so they would be keen on putting in a much-improved showing against the Seagulls this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino will stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and could name a strong team for this game. Axel Disasi and Moises Caicedo are both expected to play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Robert Sanchez will function in goal for Chelsea after conceding four goals in his last league outing. Thiago Silva will operate alongside Axel Disasi at the centre of Pochettino’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Malo Gusto is a major doubt for this game and could get to feature as the right-back if he can recover in time for this game. Levi Colwill will fill in on the other flank as the left-back. Pochettino will give both of them the license to get forward and express themselves in the Brighton half.

Benoit Badiashile will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Enzo Fernandez will play alongside Moises Caicedo as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer will operate just ahead of them as part of Chelsea’s attack. They will all have to move the ball well if the Blues are to secure enough chances to win this contest.

Noni Madueke will have to be content with a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Nicolas Jackson will spearhead Chelsea‘s attack in the final third. He would be hungry to get his name on the scoresheet after shooting blanks against Newcastle last weekend.

Armando Broja will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if required.
