I said yesterday that I’d take any kind of win at Dingwall, and that’s the way it turned out as we snatched a 2-1 win while being far from our best. It seemed like the team was still suffering from the battering they received in Dortmund and looked very disjointed, as the form we have witnessed so far this season just wasn’t there.

Thankfully we dug in and showed why we are Champions as goals from Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kuhn won us the vital three points which turned out ever so crucial as Aberdeen continued their fine form by beating Hearts at Pittodrie.

We now head into an international break, and while that sometimes can be frustrating, this time we will be a little relieved as it gives the players and manager a short spell to recharge the batteries.

The thumping in Dortmund was a sore one. The physical and mental damage may have taken its toll, and this international break will do us good to put it firmly behind us and focus on the challenges ahead. I was pleased to read on The Celtic Star that Alistair Johnston is not going away with his national side and instead and remain at Lennoxtown to work on his fitness.

Our nearest title challengers Aberdeen are next up in a vital game at Celtic Park. With the minds and legs rested a little, we should be in good shape come then.

Meanwhile Brendan will take a Celtic side over to Ireland in midweek to play Sligo Rovers in a friendly. The Celtic team will be a mixture of squad players needing game time and B-Team players deserving a chance to impress the gaffer.

We can expect the likes of Scott Bain, Maik Nawrocki,  Stephen Welsh, Luke McCowan, Odin Holm and Luis Palma to feature in this sold out friendly match on Wednesday evening.
