Dimitri Payet close to agreement with Vasco da Gama | OneFootball

Foot Mercato confirmed reports from Brazil that former Marseille captain Dimitri Payet (36) is close to an agreement with Vasco da Gama to join as a free agent this summer. The Brazilian side reportedly submitted a significant offer to the player several hours ago.

Negotiations between Payet and Vasco are reportedly advancing, with the Brazilian side confident of securing the green light from the player. Foot Mercato report that the player is interested in the move. In Brazil, Vasco’s manager revealed that the club were in negotiations for a “big-name No.10” whilst they are currently second-to-last in the Brazilian Serie A.

OM said an emotional goodbye to Payet who left after eight seasons with Marseille. The Frenchman scored 78 goals and registered 95 assists for Les Olympiens in two spells at the club, sandwiched in between a two-year spell in the Premier League with West Ham United.
