Inter Milan insists Federico Dimarco will remain at the Guiseppe Meazza beyond this summer amid interest from clubs abroad.
According to Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Champions League finalists have no intentions of allowing the defender to leave the club despite interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Both clubs had set their sights on Dimarco after his exceptional performances for the Nerazurri this season, where he notched five goals and ten assists in 50 games.
He was also instrumental in his side’s impressive Champions League run, contributing five assists as Simone Inzaghi dazzled their way to the final in Istanbul.
While his eye-catching displays have not gone unnoticed amongst Europe’s elite, Inter consider Dimarco untouchable and are preparing to table a new deal for the defender in the coming months.
Dimarco currently takes home around €1.8 million per year, which is significantly lower than most of his teammates. Inter want to reward his performances with an improved salary package.
The Italian remains the first choice option for Inzaghi, while Robin Gosen is expected to leave this club this summer after failing to impress during his short stint at the San Siro Stadium.
The 28-year-old is drawing interest from Bundesliga duo Union Berlin and VfL Wolfsburg, while clubs in the Premier League are also monitoring his situation in Italy.
Inter already have a plan to replace the Germany international, with the club plotting a move for AC Monza’s highly-rated defender Carlos Augusto.
Although facing competition from their Italian counterparts Juventus, Inter are pushing to land the impressive Brazilian full-back this summer.
The 24-year-old was a revelation for Monza in their maiden Serie A campaign, bagging six goals and five assists to help the Biancorossi retain their top-flight status.
Augusto will enter the final 12 months of his contract with Monza when the new season commences, which could force the club into doing business, although they will demand around €20m for the defender.
