Dietmar Hamann has voiced concern about Borussia Dortmund retaining the services of Edin Terzić.

The 38-year-old led BVB to DFB Pokal success as interim manager last season, but only after the club had announced the decision to have Marco Rose come in as head coach on a three-year deal this summer.

Terzić has subsequently become technical director at Signal Iduna Park, but former Germany international Hamann sees “potential danger” in the unusual situation.

“A position was created for Terzić that didn’t exist before,” the Sky Sport analyst said at a press conference on Monday.

The ex Bayern Munich and Liverpool midfielder added that having a new manager working so closely with the man he has just replaced is an “unhealthy constellation”.

Dortmund will have their first competitive match under the new management structure when they travel to SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB Pokal on Saturday.
