Diego Valdés has no regrets about joining América despite the awful start to the Clausura his new side have endured.
The Azulcrema have taken just four points from their opening five games to leave them languishing down in 15th place in the Liga MX table.
While Valdés acknowledges the situation is untenable in the long-term, he is confident Las Águilas will find their feet soon under the stewardship of Santiago Solari.
“Not that I thought about it, one is a footballer and has to adapt,” the Chile international told Milenio.
“If we had started in the best way, I would also say the same.
“I have to be prepared for every occasion, just like my team-mates and the coaching staff. We know that the other teams also prepare in the best way, and we know that we are going to pull it off.”
Valdés has made three league appearances since joining from Santos Laguna in the close season, and notched his first goal for the Coapa in the 3-2 win over his former employers last weekend.
He will be hoping to help lift the gloom when América host Pachuca on Sunday.
