Diego Moreira misses Lyon training ahead of imminent Chelsea return | OneFootball

Diego Moreira (19) missed Olympique Lyonnais’ training session on Sunday morning, signalling his imminent return to parent club Chelsea.

Moreira has been a peripheral figure for Lyon, featuring just 10 times for the club in all competitions since making the move to the Groupama Stadium at the end of the summer transfer window. In a struggling side, he failed to establish himself, starting just four times for Les Gones.

His loan spell will now be cut short. According to Fabrice Hawkins, the Portuguese winger was absent from training on Sunday, and he is expected to travel to London in the next 24 hours. Having already played for two clubs this season, he will remain with the Premier League side until the end of the season.

Moreira’s departure is contingent on the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma, according to Sacha Tavolieri. The Dutch winger therefore now seems close to joining Les Gones. His spell on loan at Everton from Villarreal now looks set to be cut short.
