Diego Llorente started a new chapter in his career after collecting over 50 caps with the Giallorossi.
Following his two consecutive loans in the Italian capital, the former Roma centreback moved on a permanent deal to Real Betis from Leeds United.
In his presentation day in Seville, Llorente discussed the events leading up to his return to Spain.
“When the season ended, there was a period of reflection and upon my return to Spain I was informed of Betis’ interest,” Llorente told AS.
“There were other clubs interested, including Roma, but the sum of all the factors and the enthusiasm they conveyed to me were the key to my decision.”
“Obviously playing in Europe is another reason to come here. It’s a very good competition and we have the team to deal with anything that comes our way. In my case, a European competition is very special, we hope to bring Betis to the final and do great things.”
