There’s no doubt that former Club América star Diego Lainez is going through his darkest stage as a professional, struggling to get minutes for a competitive Real Betis side.

In fact, Lainez has only been on the pitch for a brief stoppage-time cameo in the first game of the season, yet it appears that Real Betis are not ready to give up on the Mexican starlet.

Today the program “El Pelotazo” revealed that Real Betis received a ‘juicy’ offer from an unnamed club in Major League Soccer that was around €15m.

It’s a bit shocking that the Verdiblancos would turn down such an offer, as it would have represented a profit of a couple of million, but all reports state that it was Lainez who does not want to leave Europe just yet.

Since arriving from América, the Mexico international has made 35 appearances for the LaLiga outfit, scoring twice and adding another two assists.
