Diego Godin could leave Inter at the end of this season just one season after joining according to a report from Spanish news outlet AS.
The experienced Uruguayan national team centre back joined Inter on a free transfer this past Summer following the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid, who he had captained for several years.
There was a lot of excitement when Godin’s signing was announced but the 34-year-old has struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system which has seen him caught out on a number of occasions.
Godin was initially a starter in Conte’s side but in the past few months he has lost his place in the team to young prospect Alessandro Bastoni, who is no less than 14 years younger than him.
As per the report, Godin, who has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date, could reassess his future with the Nerazzurri club just shortly.
