Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, France manager Didier Deschamps was asked about Antoine Griezmann’s disappointing return campaign with Atletico Madrid.

“It happens. We have already faced this type of situation. I speak with Antoine, even more when he is with us. He is not in his best form. He is always used to be decisive, now he is less so. He has experienced more difficult matches, in areas where he is maybe less at ease. It happens to all at one moment or another. He got a first injury, then he had a setback. It impacted his physical condition. He is not at the best of his form. I know what Antoine has done and is capable of doing.”
