Manchester United welcomed Newcastle United at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they hoped to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Red Devils made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 31st minute when Kobbie Mainoo got his name on the scoresheet. Man United went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Anthony Gordon equalised for Newcastle in the 49th minute but Amad Diallo restored Man United’s advantage just eight minutes later. Rasmus Hojlund found the back of the net as well in the 84th minute before Lewis Hall got a goal back for the visitors in injury time. The contest ended with Man United securing a hard-fought 3-2 win in front of their home fans.

Onana made a few important saves at the back but won’t be pleased about conceding twice tonight.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10

Casemiro cleared the danger when needed but won’t be happy about shipping in a couple of goals in the second half.

He made a few crucial interceptions on the defensive end of the field.

LB: Diogo Dalot – 6.5/10

Dalot proved his worth at times at both ends of the pitch.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo – 8/10

He anchored the midfield well and managed to score the opening goal in the 31st minute.

CM: Sofyan Amrabat – 6.5/10

Amrabat came back to defend when he could and made one key chance in the final third.

RW: Amad Diallo – 8.5/10

Diallo was a constant menace in the final third and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.

CAM: Scott McTominay – 7/10

He performed his defensive responsibilities well but struggled to influence the game in the final third.

LW: Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5/10

Garnacho caused some problems for the opposition defenders but there was no goal for him.

ST: Bruno Fernandes – 8/10

Fernandes made a few excellent chances for his teammates in the final third and did well to pick up an assist.
