AC Milan held new contacts with Tony D’Amico over the vacant sporting director role on Friday, according to a report.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that there has been a development regarding Milan’s pursuit of a new director, with D’Amico – who is currently at Atalanta – gaining ground on Igli Tare in the race.
The Nerazzurri director is one of the names on the list together with Tare, who was met by the Rossoneri management in recent days.
New contacts have in fact been initiated with D’Amico, and in the next few days Milan will make the necessary decisions given that there are a lot of tasks for the right candidate to tackle.
Tony D’Amico has a contract as Atalanta’s sporting director until 2027, but has been identified by the Rossoneri as one of the possible names for the role, implying they think they can poach him.
He is younger than some of the other names linked but is experienced in Italian football, which is why he is regarded as a ‘very interesting name’ by the leadership at the moment.
D’Amico has been part of a management at Atalanta which hit the jackpot with signings like Matteo Retegui, Charles De Ketelaere, Ederson, Ademola Lookman and others.
