A memorable debut and homecoming for Ángel Di María, turning out for @Rosario Central once again.
Despite picking up an injury and being forced off in the 89th minute, and a last-gasp equaliser spoiling the result (1–1), the Argentine international was welcomed back in truly electric fashion at the Dr. Lisandro de la Torre stadium.
The place was absolutely buzzing - packed stands, a brilliant atmosphere, and non-stop support from the fans. That energy paid off when Di María fired home a stylish penalty to break the deadlock in what had been a tightly contested match.
Unfortunately, the celebrations didn’t last long. Just before full time, Di María was stretchered off with an injury, unable to see out the final moments. Godoy Cruz took advantage, with Vicente Poggi keeping his cool to slot home the equaliser deep into stoppage time (90+6).
It was a debut full of ups and downs for Di María, who returns to Argentine football after a glittering career in Europe.
