According to recent updates in Italy, Serie A leaders Inter are also interested in signing Napoli captain and Italy right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo this summer, joining a list of potential suitors that also includes Premier League sides Manchester United and Aston Villa.

During a Radio Kiss Kiss broadcast on Wednesday, journalist and presenter Valter de Maggio confirmed that Manchester United and Aston Villa are interested in Di Lorenzo, but also suggested that Inter want the 30-year-old ‘at all costs’ as well.

Inter, specifically CEO Beppe Marotta, has already been in contact with the player’s representatives.

“Our colleague from Il Mattino suggests that two English clubs are interested in him (Di Lorenzo) and I can confirm this,” de Maggio told listeners, reported via FCInter1908.it.

“In light of this season, the club will make evaluations, but the players will also have their own views. Zielinski might not be the only player who will go to Inter, as Inter also want Di Lorenzo at all costs.

“Marotta has already made moves with the player’s entourage.”

According to reports from TMW, Inter are prepared to begin formal negotiations with Di Lorenzo in the coming weeks.

Di Lorenzo is currently tied to Napoli with a relatively long-term contract that is set to expire in the summer of 2028.

The 30-year-old has made a total of 223 appearances in all competitions for Napoli since signing from Empoli in 2019. 167 of them have come in Serie A.

And, despite a tough season for Napoli, that has seen three different coaches in the dugout in Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona, Di Lorenzo has kept his form on a personal level, providing seven assists and two goals from 40 outings this campaign.
