Sport Bild reports that the DFB are set to hold talks with Werder Bremen striker Justin Njinmah over representing Germany instead of Nigeria.

His performance this season have caught the interest of the DFB and they will look into trying to convince him to represent Germany over Nigeria. The Nigerian Football Association have also held talks with the Bremen striker over representing them as well.

However, the issue for Njinmah is both nations have several options in attack. Nigeria has the likes of Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman as well as Samuel Chukwueze all of whom would start ahead of Nijnmah. While at Germany, the 23-year-old is not the type of striker that Germany needs at the moment.

At the same time, Bremen are also interested in extending the contract of Njinmah. The length of his contract is unknown but since returning from his loan at Borussia Dortmund II last summer, the 23-year-old has scored five times and assisted two in 20 games for Bremen.
