In the delayed DFB Pokal quarter-final between Jahn Regensburg and Werder Bremen, the visitors came out on top with a 1-0 victory.

During the opening 45 minutes, both Regensburg and Werder Bremen were pushing to find the back of the net first but neither side could capitalise on their chances.

The visitors dominated possession holding 66 per cent and had six shot attempts compared to the host’s one.

Still, both teams remained deadlocked as half-time approached.

Coming into the second half, Werder Bremen continued with the pressure and eventually it was enough to crack Regensburg.

Marco Friedl teed up team-mate Yuya Osako who put the visitors ahead after 52 minutes.

As time went on, the visitors tried to find an equalizer but unfortunately, their fairytale run comes to an end.

Werder Bremen will now face RB Leipzig in the semi-finals on 30 April.
