The record cup winners will wrap up the first round: On Wednesday morning, the Deutsche Fußballbund (DFB) released the exact dates and times of the first round matches in the DFB Cup. According to the announcement, FC Bayern will play their opening match at FC Viktoria Köln on the evening of Wednesday, 31 August, at 20:45 CEST, making it the last tie of this year's first round matches.

Opponents Köln will move from their home, Sportpark Höhenberg to the 50,000-seat Rhein-Energie-Stadion. The match will also be shown live on the German TV channels ARD and Sky.
