La Liga giants Real Madrid have today sanctioned the permanent departure of one of the club’s on-loan talents.
The player in question? Álex Jiménez.
Versatile full-back Jiménez, for his part, has spent the season to date in Italy, with Serie A heavyweights AC Milan.
And though he has featured sparingly for the Rossoneri at senior level, in limited minutes, the Spanish youth international has showcased flashes of his explosive potential.
Considered a potential star in the making at San Siro, it therefore came as little surprise when recent word was forthcoming that the Milan brass had kicked into gear efforts to make Jiménez’s transfer a permanent one.
And, as alluded to above, on Sunday, precisely that has come to fruition.
As per a report from transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, citing Sky Sport’s Manuele Baiocchini:
‘AC Milan have reached an agreement for the redemption of Jiménez from Real Madrid’.
The accord between the clubs is understood to be worth less than the original €5 million clause inserted into the 18-year-old’s loan terms with Milan.
Crucially, though, Real Madrid have also secured for themselves a buyback clause, allowing Los Blancos to keep at least some form of control when it comes to Jiménez’s future.
