Following their takeover by the billionaire Arnault family and Red Bull, Paris FC are looking to shake up the landscape of French football. Bolstered by their newfound riches, the club hope to plot a pathway that will eventually see them become regular contenders for European places. However, for next season, the goal will be to consolidate their place in Ligue 1.
This past campaign, Paris ended their 46-year absence from the top flight by finishing second in Ligue 2. They will be looking to strengthen significantly over the summer if they hope to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle. With this in mind, L’Équipe reports that according to their information, Paris have been given around a €40 million transfer budget.
The French outlet further explains that the club have made signing a fullback on both flanks the priority, with the club keen to secure Real Sociedad’s Hamari Traoré (33). The club also want to bring in an experienced and athletic left-footed centre-back, two athletic midfielders, two winners, and a striker who likes to drop deep.
Paris are expected to want to add another goalkeeper to vie for the number one spot alongside academy product Obed Nkambadio (22). Contract extensions are in the works for Rémy Riou (37), who is likely to be the third-choice keeper, as with Julien López (33) and Timothée Kolodziejczak (33). L’Équipe writes that Jules Gaudin (25), Josias Lukembila (25) and Gabriel Oualengbe (21) are expected to leave.
