Reports in Italy claim that there is a difference of around €3m per season in wages between Napoli’s offer to Kevin De Bruyne and the Belgian’s current salary demands, ahead of a new meeting this week to further discuss the financial details of a move to Serie A.
The Manchester City star has been linked with a move to join Napoli once he leaves the Etihad Stadium at the end of his current contract, which is due to expire in June.
The six-time Premier League winner is not short on options in the transfer window, with strong links to MLS and the Saudi Pro League as well, but reports in Italy claim that he has given his preference to a move to Napoli.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Napoli’s current proposal is for a two-year contract worth around €7m per season in wages plus bonuses.
De Bruyne is reportedly willing to take a wage cut from his lucrative Manchester City contract, but is still after an annual sum in the region of €10m per season in wages.
The 33-year-old, who will turn 34 at the end of June, is due to speak to representatives from Napoli next week in order to further discuss the financial details behind a move to Napoli. He is also expected to speak directly with head coach Antonio Conte according to recent updates.

Calciomercato adds that De Bruyne has already been in contact with international colleague and current Partenopei striker Romelu Lukaku, as well as former Belgium and Napoli star Dries Mertens to ask about the reality of playing for the Azzurri in Serie A.
De Bruyne’s wife has already been to Naples to visit the city and according to Calciomercato, possibly to look at schools for their children as well.
On top of being a football decision, choosing what is best for his family will also be a key factor behind De Bruyne’s next move.
