Raheem Sterling could be close to an official announcement regarding his personal branding and sponsorship, with American sports giants New Balance now following the England international on Instagram, as reported by FootyHeadlines on Wednesday.

The Manchester City forward was also spotted wearing a whiteout version of New Balance boots against Marseille on Tuesday night – further indicating that a deal could be close between the player, his representatives and the US sports goods producer.

Raheem Sterling has previously been tied down to a sponsorship deal with Nike, which ended this past summer. Although no rumours have emerged that Sterling could join New Balance, the fact that he laced up in the brand’s boots in an official match could just be a slight hint at a future deal.

Previous reports have unsurprisingly linked Sterling with the game’s biggest brands, with Manchester City kit manufacturer and lead sponsor Puma pursuing the star alongside the likes of Adidas and Under Armour.

A new main sponsor for Raheem Sterling would mark another major step forward in the player’s incredible rise in terms of personal branding, with significant deal struck with the likes of H&M, Gillette and Clarks spotted over the past 12 months.
