The club future of Mats Hummels is still up in the air with question marks surrounding whether he’ll extend his time with Roma.
Having arrived last September on a free transfer after his long spell at Borussia Dortmund, the German central defender initially struggled to find space under Ivan Juric.
However, with the arrival of Claudio Ranieri, the 36-year-old has become a key element in the veteran technician’s line-up.
Hummels’ contract expires on June 30, 2025, and, as revealed by journalist Nicolò Schira, the current agreement does not include any clause for automatic renewal.
The contractual issue therefore remains open, and a meeting between the player and the management has been scheduled for April.
This meeting will be decisive in outlining the future of the defender, who could remain a key piece of the team in 25/26.
